Base Salary

$105k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-team evolution of middleware patterns and runtimes for interoperability and scale.
  • Define versioning, deprecation, API lifecycle, compatibility, and safe rollout strategies.
  • Drive shared observability baselines, SLOs, error budgets, resilience patterns, capacity planning, monitoring, and service availability improvements.
  • Design, implement, test, debug, review, document, and optimize complex software features and scalable solutions.
  • Provide architectural guidance, technical coaching, mentorship, and code-quality leadership to engineers.
  • Troubleshoot complex API, integration, maintenance, customer, and defect issues and develop durable fixes.
  • Create migration guides, adoption playbooks, customer support processes, and product enhancement recommendations.
  • Coordinate project tasks, timelines, deliverables, priorities, and technical oversight across multiple initiatives.
  • Participate in candidate interviews, assessments, and hiring recommendations.

Requirements

  • Advanced software engineering experience with complex platform, middleware, runtime, interoperability, scalability, and architecture work.
  • Experience with software design, development lifecycle practices, functional and non-functional testing, debugging, performance profiling, and optimization.
  • Ability to define API versioning, lifecycle, compatibility, deprecation, rollout, observability, and resilience strategies.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, coach less experienced developers, conduct code reviews, and drive architectural and coding standards.
  • Experience troubleshooting broad-reaching software, integration, maintenance, and customer-reported issues.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, system maintenance, patching, automation, monitoring, and reliability practices.
  • Ability to coordinate moderately complex projects and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and customers.
  • Experience participating in technical hiring and talent development is relevant.
