Base Salary

$78k - $176k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Administer Databricks accounts and workspaces, including settings, features, serverless compute, previews, and account-level configurations.
  • Manage identity and access using SCIM, users, groups, service principals, roles, entitlements, workspace assignments, and least-privilege controls.
  • Govern Unity Catalog metastores, catalogs, schemas, tags, lineage, sharing, and fine-grained access controls.
  • Manage clusters, cluster policies, instance pools, job clusters, serverless options, Photon usage, and resource limits.
  • Design and maintain multi-environment infrastructure as code using Terraform and the Databricks Terraform Provider.
  • Automate notebooks, Delta Live Tables pipelines, workflows, jobs, Delta Lake configurations, and administrative tasks using Python, Bash, REST APIs, and Asset Bundles.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, audit logs, usage, operational metrics, and costs, including budget alerts and spending optimization.
  • Enforce encryption, private networking, IP access lists, credential management, FedRAMP alignment, and DoD security standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues, conduct root-cause analysis, maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies, and provide Tier-3 support.
  • Mentor junior administrators, conduct platform reviews, document procedures, and evaluate new Databricks features.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience administering Databricks.
  • Experience with cloud platform operations, data platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
  • Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools, REST APIs, and monitoring or observability concepts.
  • Experience scripting or automating platform administration with Python or Bash.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Cloud certification.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Preferred experience includes Databricks account and workspace administration, Unity Catalog, compute and cluster management, identity federation, SCIM, role-based access control, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Azure, continuous automation, and public-cloud troubleshooting.
  • A master’s degree is preferred.
