Base Salary
$105k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize 5G NR Layer 2 and Layer 3 functionality across MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, and NGAP.
- Implement L2 scheduling algorithms, HARQ mechanisms, and buffer management.
- Develop and maintain UE and gNB L2/L3 protocol stacks while ensuring compliance and performance.
- Optimize throughput, latency, handover processes, and overall network performance.
- Debug and troubleshoot protocol stack behavior using logs and tracing tools.
- Integrate and test L2/L3 software with the PHY and 5GC.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in 5G NR or LTE RAN L2/L3 development.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Strong C and C++ programming skills with experience in multithreaded and real-time systems.
- Deep understanding of MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, and NGAP protocols.
- Experience with L2 scheduling, HARQ, QoS, and mobility management.
- Familiarity with 3GPP Release 15 and later specifications.
- Strong debugging skills using tools such as Wireshark, TShark, or QXDM.
- Experience with an RTOS or the Linux kernel networking stack.
- Knowledge of DPDK, VPP, or other high-performance packet-processing frameworks is preferred.
- Experience with O-RAN, Open RAN, or vRAN architectures is preferred.
