
Software Engineer II - Platform Engineer Databricks

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain software solutions for challenging cloud data platform problems.
- Design, configure, administer, and maintain a managed AWS Databricks platform.
- Provide engineering and operational support to SRE, application, data engineering, Data Science/ML, and application integration teams.
- Perform platform setup, workspace administration, resource monitoring, and resiliency support.
- Identify data patterns and hidden problems to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Use and validate enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Apply software development lifecycle tools and automation to improve engineering productivity and delivery.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Hands-on Python and/or Java development experience with automated unit testing.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and automated infrastructure provisioning tools.
- Experience with GitHub or Bitbucket, Jenkins, and PyPI or Maven Artifactory integrations.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Knowledge of distributed Big Data compute frameworks such as Spark and Terraform.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred experience includes Spark data pipeline development, Terraform Enterprise infrastructure provisioning, Databricks, platform administration, monitoring, and resiliency.
