Base Salary
$176k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade Python services and APIs for enterprise machine learning platforms.
- Architect and implement high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in AWS environments.
- Build and manage cloud-native applications using EKS, ECS, MSK, SQS, and S3.
- Develop reusable service frameworks, shared libraries, and modular application components.
- Implement repeatable infrastructure-as-code deployments using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Create monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions using Datadog, Dynatrace, and Splunk.
- Deploy and support production applications while meeting service-level objectives and agreements.
- Implement secure-by-design practices, automated testing, and blue/green and canary release strategies.
- Review code, provide architectural guidance, and mentor engineers.
- Collaborate with product managers, platform engineering teams, and site reliability engineers.
- Drive adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices for coding, testing, troubleshooting, and operations.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, object-oriented design, and modular software architecture.
- Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance cloud-native services in AWS.
- Hands-on experience with EKS, ECS, MSK/Kafka, SQS, and S3.
- Strong experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Expertise designing, deploying, and supporting distributed systems in production.
- Experience with Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar observability platforms.
- Strong understanding of API design, microservices architecture, and scalable system design patterns.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and secure software engineering practices.
- Experience using approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing acceleration, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Understanding of responsible AI usage, application security, resiliency, compliance standards, and engineering mentorship.
- Preferred experience with self-healing architectures, backpressure management, idempotency, Kafka-based event-driven systems, operational runbooks, proactive monitoring, release automation, Generative AI, and Large Language Model technologies.
