Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test backend code and application components for functionality, quality, and performance.
- Deliver working software to production using appropriate technologies and development practices.
- Document software implementations and relevant configuration parameters.
- Analyze and fix production bugs and support production systems.
- Contribute to technical discipline improvements through collaboration with the cross-technical chapter.
- Perform coding, story refinement, environment management, release activities, and monitoring.
- Maintain awareness of the broader backend, infrastructure, and application architecture.
Requirements
- Strong coding skills across the middleware layer using Java 8, 11, 17, or 21 and Spring technologies.
- Knowledge of microservices, hexagonal architecture, API composition, RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, Swagger, design patterns, SOLID, clean code, and software craftsmanship.
- Experience with unit, integration, smoke, and contract testing, including JUnit, Mockito, MockMvc, WireMock, and PowerMock.
- Experience with Maven, JPA, Oracle, JDBC, Git, domain-driven design, Docker, OpenShift or Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps pipelines and awareness of backend infrastructure and DevOps practices.
- At least five years of experience with a similar technical stack.
- Experience working in agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, or XP.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Desirable knowledge includes circuit breaker, API gateway, service discovery, feature flags, retail banking, Flyway, Liquibase, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, JWT, mutual TLS, access tokens, Ansible, BDD, Selenium, Cucumber, reactive programming, Akka, Scala, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
