Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)
CloudflareResponsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and lead architectural discussions, design sessions, and solution reviews for enterprise customers.
- Architect and configure tailored application security, web performance, traffic management, and network security solutions using Cloudflare Workers.
- Implement and support complex infrastructure configurations using Terraform.
- Diagnose technical issues and collaborate with Cloudflare Support and Product teams on strategic solutions.
- Act as a liaison between the customer and Cloudflare Product, Support, and Engineering teams, advocating for customer needs.
- Manage fast-moving technical discussions primarily through Slack.
- Align Cloudflare capabilities with the customer’s AI/LLM strategy and identify future initiatives involving Network Security and SASE.
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical customer-facing experience as a technical architect or lead on complex enterprise projects involving cloud networks, web infrastructure, or security.
- Extensive knowledge of application security, Cloudflare Workers, Workers AI, cybersecurity, web performance, and cloud infrastructure.
- Extensive experience implementing and supporting complex solutions with Terraform.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and manage relationships in challenging, high-stakes environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for managing technical discussions in Slack-first environments.
- Strong technical understanding of AI/LLM concepts.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, cybersecurity, and standards such as Zero Trust and SASE.
- Experience or strong interest in transitioning application-focused environments toward network security and SASE models is preferred.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages beyond Terraform for automation and proof-of-concept development is preferred.
- Experience managing or advising on project-based financial funds is preferred.
