Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain multi-tier web, mobile, and API applications.
- Build complete features from concept through deployment for Fidelity’s digital platforms.
- Create technical specifications and architectures for complex systems.
- Design and develop Node.js or Java/JEE applications and front-end solutions.
- Develop and maintain APIs while supporting existing APIs in production.
- Plan and coordinate full project lifecycles across multiple platforms and technical teams.
- Analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, tune performance, and provide production support.
- Ensure code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing are completed effectively.
- Create comprehensive application and subsystem documentation.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and facilitate collaboration across technology partners.
- Contribute to process improvements and iteration planning to support product-team velocity.
Requirements
- Proven expertise architecting and developing multi-tier, internet-facing web and mobile applications and APIs.
- Experience developing detailed technical specifications and architectures for complex systems.
- Experience mentoring engineers, managing technology roadmaps, and facilitating collaboration.
- Experience with Node.js and/or Java/JEE, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, and browser developer tools.
- Experience with Webpack, Groovy, Jenkins, Concourse, Docker, and orchestration or containerization.
- Experience with Node.js package management, NPM, and Express.
- Experience with Angular or React and automation tools or frameworks such as Cypress and Playwright.
- Advanced Git skills and experience with branching strategies.
- Experience with API design and development, HTTP-based APIs, networking, and asynchronous programming concepts.
- Knowledge of Swift or Kotlin for native iOS or Android development is preferred or required as part of the listed skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, mathematics, physics, or equivalent.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, iterative environment and demonstrate ownership, curiosity, and leadership.
