Responsibilities
- Develop sophisticated software with minimal supervision and maintain product quality and maintainability.
- Design, build, document, and maintain JSON or REST services and integrations with third-party APIs.
- Fix complex bugs, perform advanced refactoring, and contribute to system design and technical documentation.
- Participate in peer code reviews, release preparation, technical presentations, and application lifecycle processes.
- Partner with product and analytics teams to define requirements and identify viable solutions.
- Onboard, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to junior and less experienced developers.
- Identify risks and roadblocks, update estimates, and help lead small to moderate projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- At least 6 years of professional Java development experience.
- Experience with OS X, Linux, Spring, AWS, SQL, NoSQL, Git, and distributed web applications.
- Experience designing and building JSON or REST services, working with third-party APIs and AWS APIs, and using Docker or other containers.
- Experience with security-focused API design, object-oriented programming, design patterns, test-driven development, and functional testing.
- Intermediate proficiency in at least one object-oriented language, React Native, React, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Extensive knowledge of npm package and webpack lifecycles.
- Experience with iOS and Android development.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills are preferred.
