Base Salary

$131k - $243k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and execution of highly scalable, low-latency backend services for the Buyer Cloud platform.
  • Drive multi-team initiatives involving platform reliability, system decomposition, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks in distributed workflows operating under strict latency budgets.
  • Partner with Product, Infrastructure, SRE, and Data Engineering teams on technical roadmaps and strategy.
  • Establish best practices for design reviews, code quality, testing, observability, and incident root-cause analysis.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design coaching, code reviews, and architectural guidance.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters and support additional assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work nights, weekends, or variable schedules as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 13+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a Staff or Lead Engineer role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C++, Go, Java, or Rust.
  • Proven experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed backend systems in production.
  • Deep understanding of concurrency, multithreading, memory management, networking protocols, and Linux performance profiling.
  • Experience building containerized, cloud-native services using AWS, Kubernetes, ECS, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with ultra-low-latency real-time decisioning systems, such as AdTech, DSPs, financial trading, real-time analytics, or high-frequency auction systems, is a bonus.
  • Experience with petabyte-scale datasets or systems processing millions of requests per second is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with distributed datastores, storage platforms, Aerospike, Snowflake, and event streaming architectures is a bonus.
  • Experience modernizing legacy architectures and driving cloud-native adoption is a bonus.
