Responsibilities
- Own software-enabled solutions deployed to customers and optimize delivery of value to end users.
- Design and implement scalable software with an architecture and capability evolution path beyond current platforms.
- Design and develop reusable software services across multiple product lines.
- Develop software running on and off robotic platforms using a variety of technologies.
- Design, implement, and execute development processes for vehicle and mission software, including lifecycle testing, monitoring, and operation.
- Create software- and hardware-in-the-loop test and simulation fixtures.
- Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment.
- Act as a technical lead and owner across the architecture, design, delivery, support, and evolution of autonomous platforms.
- Work with a multidisciplinary engineering team and mentor Software Engineers from differing backgrounds.
- Travel to co-locate with end-users and/or other teams up to 20% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive professional experience working as a Software Engineer with one or more domains or technologies of expertise.
- Systems or application programming skills involving algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design.
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
- Ability to work holistically across the software stack and through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment.
- Ability to act as technical owner for a software service, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
- Ability to learn and grow while mentoring junior team members and building team cohesion.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Preferred experience in a senior role delivering a military mission system.
- Preferred experience writing backend services or embedded software in C++, Rust, and/or Go.
- Preferred experience writing frontend applications using TypeScript and React.
- Preferred experience designing, implementing, and operating horizontally scaled cloud technologies.
- Preferred experience supporting embedded software, particularly in robotics.
- Preferred experience with modeling and simulation, high-assurance safety-critical software, and the product delivery lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts.
