Responsibilities
- Own complex cloud infrastructure and platform engineering problems end-to-end in production.
- Lead significant portions of a multi-tenant, multi-cluster, and multi-region cloud platform.
- Build internal developer platforms and paved roads as platform-as-a-product capabilities.
- Design and operate Infrastructure as Code, Policy as Code, Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD systems.
- Set technical direction, drive cross-functional solutions, and align platform architecture with business objectives.
- Design secure architecture and defend technical trade-offs with security partners.
- Troubleshoot networking, Linux systems, service meshes, distributed systems, and observability issues.
- Mentor engineers and raise standards for quality, security, and customer focus.
Requirements
- 8+ years of cloud infrastructure and platform engineering experience with end-to-end production ownership.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes, containers, Crossplane, and Terraform at scale.
- Experience with Policy as Code using Kyverno and OPA/Gatekeeper.
- Expertise with one or more public cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Experience with GitOps and CI/CD using Flux, Jenkins, and Kargo.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including NATs, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and mTLS.
- Linux internals and systems-level troubleshooting experience.
- Experience designing microservices and distributed systems for failure scenarios.
- Experience with service meshes such as Istio, Traefik, and LinkerD.
- Experience with observability stacks including Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Sensu.
- Ability to mentor engineers, set technical direction, and work effectively in ambiguous cross-functional environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of work experience is preferred.
