Base Salary
$163k - $247k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test the core billing platform, including usage jobs, subscriptions, orders, invoice generation, payments, reporting, and accounting integrations.
- Shape architecture and own the performance, reliability, and lifecycle of high-throughput transactional commerce systems.
- Build self-service internal features and APIs and support billing models such as multi-entity and multi-currency anniversary billing.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Product Management, Data, Design, and business stakeholders to prototype, iterate, and launch solutions.
- Mentor engineers and help solve complex technical problems at large scale.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of software development experience.
- Experience building large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems and scalable, efficient platforms.
- Experience in commerce, invoicing, payment processing, or revenue recognition.
- Experience owning multi-quarter projects with measurable user impact at scale.
- Experience with large-scale refactoring, performance and reliability challenges, and end-to-end platform ownership.
- Ability to mentor engineers and communicate effectively across engineering teams and with business stakeholders.
- Experience in or interest in working with Ruby on Rails.
- Experience leveraging AI tools or systems to accelerate development, improve testing, and deliver platform capabilities.
- Curiosity and experimentation with emerging AI frameworks, including evaluating and scaling AI use safely across teams.
