Responsibilities
- Translate mission needs, technical direction, requirements, integration guides, and operational feedback into actionable engineering work.
- Design, implement, and sustain secure DevSecOps pipelines and environments using GitLab source control, CI/CD, issue tracking, and backlog management.
- Develop, modify, review, and troubleshoot automation, infrastructure-as-code, scripts, configuration artifacts, and application code.
- Support deployments and updates across development, test, and production environments.
- Integrate systems, APIs, data exchanges, and containerized microservices while troubleshooting operational data-flow issues.
- Build and maintain GitLab epics, issues, milestones, boards, branching strategies, merge-request standards, and release evidence.
- Provide technical expertise during live or simulated exercises, including time-sensitive troubleshooting and operational support.
- Produce technical documentation, integration diagrams, after-action reports, status updates, risk assessments, and decision recommendations.
Requirements
- Active DoW Secret clearance or above.
- At least 6 years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, integration engineering, DevOps, or DevSecOps.
- Hands-on experience operating, deploying, and troubleshooting Kotlin applications.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or a similar high-throughput publish/subscribe messaging system.
- Strong understanding of event-driven system architectures and complex integration and data-flow troubleshooting.
- Experience building processes alongside other teams is strongly favored.
- Experience packaging and deploying applications with Docker or equivalent container technologies is desired.
- Familiarity with Helm charts, Git-based version control, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and Kraken or similar data processing and integration frameworks is desired.
- Prior support for DoD simulations, wargames, or operational test events is desired.
- Ability to provide on-site or after-hours support during scheduled exercises or mission events.
