Base Salary
$160k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop backend services and APIs supporting the robotic fleet and associated application workflows.
- Build service capabilities including configuration management and telemetry data ingestion.
- Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing within CI pipelines.
- Contribute to CI/CD, observability, operational practices, health endpoints, documentation, and uptime monitoring.
- Partner with embedded, infrastructure, product, security, and quality teams to deliver compliant and adoptable solutions.
- Troubleshoot distributed systems, support incidents, and contribute to small, frequent, high-confidence releases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant software engineering experience, including backend services or API development.
- Strong experience building backend services and APIs using Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience designing REST or gRPC APIs with documentation, versioning, backward compatibility, and clear contracts.
- Experience with Postgres, service-side data modeling, and transactional system design.
- Experience with automated testing, GitLab CI/CD, AWS-based deployment, containers, and orchestration technologies.
- Understanding of distributed-systems reliability, failure handling, observability, and operational support.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with medical devices or other regulated industries and with implementing data privacy requirements.
