Base Salary
$270k - $330k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud security foundations across AWS and GCP, including account and project structures, IAM models, network segmentation, and secure service-to-service communication.
- Author reusable Terraform modules for IAM, networking, logging, encryption, policy enforcement, and secure infrastructure defaults.
- Design and operate cloud identity systems, including workload identity, service accounts, role assumption, and cross-cloud access patterns.
- Lead secure cloud networking architecture covering VPCs, private connectivity, egress control, firewalling, and isolation boundaries.
- Build security automation across CI/CD and cloud environments to reduce manual processes and operational risk.
- Own Kubernetes and container security for production workloads on GKE and EKS, including cluster hardening, RBAC, workload identity, image security, and runtime controls.
- Define logging, monitoring, and detection pipelines for cloud security posture and incident visibility.
- Perform threat modeling and architectural reviews for infrastructure and platform changes.
- Review critical infrastructure changes, mentor engineers, and raise the organization’s security standards.
Requirements
- Experience building cloud security platforms or foundational infrastructure in AWS and GCP.
- Deep fluency in Terraform, including large-scale state management, module design, and safe rollout strategies.
- Strong knowledge of cloud IAM and networking design informed by real-world failures and incident response.
- Ability to define long-term technical direction and influence architecture through technical depth.
- Preference for automation, code, and guardrails over documentation and manual review.
- Experience designing multi-account AWS organizations or large GCP project hierarchies is a bonus.
- Familiarity with policy-as-code systems such as OPA or custom policy engines is a bonus.
- Experience with cloud-native detection and posture tools, including tuning signal-to-noise, is a bonus.
- Background in high-growth startups or infrastructure-heavy platforms is a bonus.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
