Responsibilities

  • Shape the performance testing strategy for robust and scalable backend systems supporting a multi-dealer FX platform.
  • Lead and remain hands-on with a team of QA engineers focused on performance testing.
  • Design and execute soak, load, stress, throughput, functional, and non-functional testing suites.
  • Develop and maintain non-functional requirement calculations and performance benchmarks for trading systems.
  • Build Java-based test engineering tooling, test doubles, simulators, and test reporting services.
  • Use Gatling and JMeter to implement performance testing strategies and analyze results for bottlenecks.
  • Establish automated performance testing within CI/CD pipelines and improve testing methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate performance strategies, issues, and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Monitor and interpret performance metrics using Kafka, Redis, ELK, and Datadog.
  • Lead team-related processes and metrics while balancing iterative development with requirements elaboration.

Requirements

  • At least 8–10 years of experience in a senior testing role, preferably with an exchange, multi-dealer FX platform, or top-tier bank.
  • Strong understanding of trading system architecture and performance and scalability testing.
  • Excellent knowledge of functional and non-functional QA principles.
  • Expert proficiency with Gatling and JMeter.
  • Strong Java development skills for test tooling, simulators, and reporting services.
  • At least 3 years of experience using Cucumber-Java for BDD automated test cases and cucumber glue code.
  • Experience with Spring for test reporting services and other test tooling.
  • Understanding of Kafka, Redis, ELK, and Datadog for monitoring and performance analysis.
  • Experience with database performance testing and optimization across SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud environments, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and shell scripting.
  • Understanding of RTO/RPO testing is considered a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate testing strategies, issues, and results.
  • Experience establishing performance testing as part of CI/CD pipelines.
