Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support infrastructure solutions for the algorithmic trading business.
- Collaborate with development groups, system administrators, and enterprise infrastructure engineers to implement and maintain infrastructure solutions.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the Linux-based electronic trading infrastructure platform.
- Mentor, coach, and lead less experienced engineers.
- Provide technical leadership and vision for a small business-aligned team of engineers and SREs.
- Drive continuous improvement through regular reviews, blameless postmortems, and other SRE techniques.
- Own infrastructure components across the full lifecycle, from architecture design through ongoing support.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Python and standard software engineering concepts, including data structures, regular expressions, object-oriented programming, and advanced algorithms.
- Strong understanding of Unix networking, daemon configuration, and operating-system customization.
- Experience architecting large-scale, robust, resilient, and scalable systems, with expertise in infrastructure automation and integration.
- Ability to describe algorithmic and architectural trade-offs in an algebraic or quantitative manner.
- Comfort developing in Linux and command-line environments.
- Knowledge of Linux debugging tools such as tcpdump and strace.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, agentic workflows, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
- Proven technical leadership, independent problem-solving ability, and experience providing mentorship and leadership to less experienced engineers.
- Familiarity with Go is useful.
