Responsibilities
- Investigate emerging modeling and optimization technologies and determine how to incorporate them into software applications.
- Provide technical leadership for software development projects involving mathematical modeling and optimization.
- Design, develop, maintain, and support engineering software applications.
- Contribute to technical and functional design sessions and resolve technology challenges with creative solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing codebases.
- Provide technical support to product management, product marketing, services, and customer support for customer activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is helpful and a PhD is preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience developing software for modeling, control, and optimization of chemical, oil and gas, and/or refining processes.
- Strong background in numerical methods, mathematical modeling, and optimization.
- Solid computer programming and software development experience, specifically with C#/.NET.
- C++ experience is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
- Fluency in written and verbal English.
