Base Salary
$143k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver machine learning features and models aligned with business objectives.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning systems using appropriate algorithms, frameworks, and programming languages.
- Implement and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and model components with attention to quality, security, and compliance.
- Apply MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, automated retraining, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct model evaluation, validation, and performance monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Mentor team members on coding standards, best practices, and model evaluation techniques.
- Participate in architectural discussions to improve scalability and maintainability.
- Build and optimize high-throughput, low-latency services using distributed systems, fault-tolerance, and concurrency practices.
- Run A/B experiments and measure effects on search quality and business metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 3 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, AI systems, or a related area; alternatively, 5 years of relevant experience without the stated degree.
- Expertise designing, developing, and deploying scalable machine learning models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Java, C++, or R, with experience writing production-ready code.
- Proficiency in MLOps practices including CI/CD, model versioning, automated retraining, and monitoring for performance and drift.
- Experience with hyperparameter optimization, model evaluation, and feature engineering.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and mentor junior engineers.
- Knowledge of secure, compliant AI engineering and data pipeline development.
- Familiarity with large language modeling and GPU optimization techniques.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience, accessibility best practices, inclusive digital experiences, WCAG 2.2 AA standards, and assistive technologies.
