Responsibilities
- Align technical solutions with client strategic initiatives and business requirements.
- Interface with Fortune 500 customers and VP- and Director-level stakeholders, including travel to client locations.
- Design, develop, and evolve scalable, fault-tolerant distributed components using big data technologies.
- Develop and support applications, integrations, and data management solutions.
- Guide developers in day-to-day design and coding tasks and contribute to technical hiring.
- Define technical requirements, extract and transform data, automate and productionize jobs, and explore big data technologies in parallel-processing environments.
- Design and implement APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns for distributed computing challenges.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant work experience and a computer science or related technical degree.
- Experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale applications, developing frameworks and design patterns, solving technical challenges, and guiding junior staff.
- Experience building and shipping large-scale engineering products; cloud infrastructure experience such as GCP or AWS is preferred.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets from varied sources.
- Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, or a similar stack.
- Experience with functional and object-oriented programming using Python or Scala.
- Technical knowledge of Spark, Hadoop, and the GCS stack.
- Preferred experience with big data development and support, database modeling and development, data mining and warehousing, and architecting, developing, implementing, and maintaining big data solutions.
- Preferred experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, MapReduce, Oozie, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kerberos, and Kafka.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.
