Base Salary
$174k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and architect cloud infrastructure and platform services that improve reliability, availability, scalability, performance, efficiency, and system quality at 10X scale.
- Create architecture artifacts and guide cloud infrastructure choices, machine types, network designs, deployment automation, and platform processes.
- Build self-service code and end-to-end backend cloud deployment automation for application stacks.
- Provide a roadmap and vision for cloud infrastructure and platform services supporting 99.999% availability.
- Analyze shared platforms, web services, APIs, underlying data, and distributed production deployments to recommend infrastructure and network improvements.
- Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize highly reliable and scalable applications across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Improve operational excellence through automation, continuous integration servers, monitoring, testing, and performance optimization.
- Provide strategic guidance on network usage, role management, CDN, domains, and cloud infrastructure security.
- Identify disruptive improvements in cloud infrastructure operations and services through systematic automation.
- Exert technical influence across multiple teams and collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and lead engineers on mission-critical projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 7+ years of total experience; a master’s degree or equivalent experience is also accepted.
- Preferred experience includes 10–15+ years in cloud platform engineering, system engineering, Cloud DevOps, Cloud SRE, infrastructure as code, or distributed systems.
- At least 7 years of experience leading system design and architecture using AWS or Azure services is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience building and managing high-performance, highly available, scalable hybrid cloud environments is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Python or Go, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and cloud deployment automation is required or strongly preferred.
- AWS certifications in Advanced Architecting or Developing on AWS are preferred.
- Team leadership experience and strong cross-group collaboration, verbal communication, and written communication skills are preferred.
- Candidates should be able to solve complex problems, work creatively with partner teams, and pursue challenging targets.
