Senior/Principal Backend AI Engineer (Cortex XSIAM)
Palo Alto NetworksResponsibilities
- Own end-to-end backend development of features and components from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Build scalable server-side applications and contribute to AI-based and generative-AI solutions for Cortex products.
- Collaborate across teams and disciplines on product integrations, code reviews, design reviews, and architectural decisions.
- Provide real-time mitigation and solutions for production issues to maintain platform stability and reliability.
- Explore technologies and methodologies that improve backend services and AI capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software backend engineering experience.
- Experience developing scalable server-side applications using Go, Python, or Java.
- Hands-on AI experience through production AI features, AI-assisted coding workflows, or personal AI projects.
- Conceptual understanding of AI models, frameworks, and prompting techniques.
- Experience integrating generative-AI solutions into backend architectures.
- Proficiency with a variety of database technologies and experience with distributed cloud products and major cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Kubernetes and Docker experience is preferred.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and complex technical challenges is preferred.
