Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, execute, troubleshoot, and peer-review firmware test procedures and automation.
  • Facilitate requirements reviews and support test plans for firmware features, applications, and embedded subsystems.
  • Perform verification and validation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, experiments, simulations, and data analysis.
  • Support Agile project teams and new product development milestones while communicating progress and maintaining schedules.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for test development.
  • Schedule, lead, and document technical meetings and formal presentations.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience with verification and validation testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, embedded systems, and/or PCBA design.
  • Ability to read schematics and component data sheets and understand digital circuits and firmware-electronics interaction.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, data acquisition systems, multimeters, and power analyzers.
  • Exposure to National Instruments hardware, TestStand, and/or LabVIEW for automated testing.
  • Exposure to Python, C#, or C/C++ scripting.
  • Experience participating in the software development lifecycle and using configuration management, requirements management, defect tracking, and peer-review tools.
  • Experience with one or more of DevOps, automated testing, or continuous integration/continuous deployment.
  • Preferred qualifications include unit-test development or execution, structural testing knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to bare-metal firmware design.
  • Strong problem-solving, independent judgment, communication, organization, and process-orientation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
