Responsibilities

  • Design and implement large-scale customer-facing services supporting millions of Ring devices with strict availability and latency requirements.
  • Build extensible services and data models for Ring’s device connectivity and internal service ecosystem.
  • Architect fault-tolerant distributed systems using AWS and scale them from thousands to millions of concurrent operations.
  • Apply AI-first development practices across design, code generation, testing, code review, and debugging.
  • Partner with cloud, firmware, science, and product teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Establish engineering practices for monitoring, alerting, automated testing, and technical excellence.
  • Contribute to architectural and technical decisions shaping Ring’s connected home platform.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship experience with system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
  • Experience with a modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and existing systems.
  • Experience with AI-first development practices.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: experience with a relevant front-end framework such as React or React Native.
