Software Engineer II
Guidewire SoftwareResponsibilities
- Clarify requirements, break down user stories, and deliver Guidewire Cloud Platform features.
- Build and improve InsuranceSuite deployment workflows, including selective and blue-green deployments, scaling, rollback, and restore operations.
- Develop clean Java and Spring Boot code with unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
- Use Kubernetes and AWS-based platform services to manage application resources and deployment state.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting using logs, metrics, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with SRE and other platform teams to improve reliability, observability, and release automation.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant programming experience.
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.
- Proficiency in Java or another programming language, with willingness to learn Java quickly.
- Familiarity with object-oriented design patterns, Clean Code, Test-Driven Development, code reviews, pair programming, and microservices architecture.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and drive.
- Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts in an English-speaking environment.
- Ability to use AI and data-driven insights to improve productivity and outcomes.
- Preferred experience with AWS, including EKS, DynamoDB, IAM, SQS, and S3.
- Preferred experience building platform software with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native technologies.
- Familiarity with the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Core, Spring Boot, and Spring Data.
Benefits
- Requires in-office attendance in Krakow for 10 days per month: the last week Monday through Thursday, plus Tuesday and Wednesday during the remaining weeks.
