Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize reliable embedded flight software for star tracker systems, including device drivers, real-time control loops, autonomous behaviors, fault management, and AI/ML-driven decision-making.
- Architect and implement fault-tolerant, redundant software with health monitoring and autonomous recovery for satellite constellation operations.
- Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, simulation, validation, and automated regression test infrastructure.
- Own embedded software delivery from requirements decomposition and architecture through implementation, review, integration, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, communications, manufacturing, optical, firmware, and operations teams to integrate and deploy space-based optical communication systems.
- Improve deployment and over-the-air update processes for safely delivering software to hundreds of satellites in orbit.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Proficiency in C and/or C++ with strong understanding of memory management, concurrency, and deterministic execution for resource-constrained embedded devices.
- Experience with Linux-based development environments, cross-compilation toolchains, and hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop test frameworks.
- Experience with Python for embedded-development test automation, simulation, or tooling.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes embedded C/C++ development, hardware troubleshooting, hardware/software integration, real-time systems, space systems, FPGA-adjacent interfaces, DMA engines, hardware/software co-design, remote device management, CI/CD and deployment automation, and aerospace or telecommunications environments.
- Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee due to export control requirements.
