Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support complex SAP solutions using ABAP and OO-ABAP.
- Build and maintain RICEF objects, CDS Views, S/4HANA-optimized ABAP, and clean-core aligned customizations.
- Use AI-assisted development and analysis tools to understand legacy code, improve quality, identify modernization opportunities, and validate generated recommendations or code.
- Develop and support integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, OData services, APIs, and SAP CPI/PI/PO middleware.
- Lead unit testing and support integration and user acceptance testing, including AI-assisted testing validation.
- Act as a senior escalation point for production defects and incidents, performing root-cause analysis and reducing recurring defects.
- Ensure compliant transport and release management across environments.
- Partner with functional leads, architects, business analysts, and cross-functional IT teams on enterprise SAP solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to junior ABAP developers and contribute to standards, documentation, and best practices.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience in enterprise environments.
- 8+ years of total SAP development experience preferred.
- At least 4 years supporting SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA platforms.
- At least 4 years supporting production-critical SAP applications, including enhancements and defect resolution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced experience with ABAP/4, OO-ABAP, BAS, ABAP Dictionary, enhancements, user exits, BADIs, CDS Views, AMDP, and SQLScript.
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 backend enablement, reporting and forms, SAP integrations, SAP HANA, SAP BTP, and ABAP Development Tools.
- Experience delivering complex, cross-functional SAP solutions and supporting Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or HR modules.
- Experience in regulated or SOX-controlled environments is preferred.
- Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models is preferred.
