Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain secure, stable, and scalable integrations with digital-asset providers and infrastructure, including on-ramp and off-ramp capabilities.
  • Develop and deliver backend product features with the Product team using the Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Design and evolve microservices and event-driven architectures for real-time market data and trade events.
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Operations to satisfy regulatory, security, transaction-monitoring, wallet-screening, and key-management controls.
  • Own work from estimation through release and post-production, including defect resolution, code reviews, testing, monitoring, and releases.
  • Develop deterministic, well-tested, and auditable code for balances, order flow, settlement, and asset movement.
  • Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering and automation practices across teams and the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
  • Contribute to technical initiatives, architecture decisions, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • English working proficiency is required for collaboration with the London team.
  • Hands-on experience with exchange, brokerage, custody, wallet, or settlement systems for digital assets.
  • Solid understanding of blockchains, wallets, public and private keys, signing, transactions, fees, tokens, and custodial versus non-custodial models.
  • Experience with smart contracts or on-chain data, including technologies such as Solidity, web3 libraries, Infura, Alchemy, or self-operated nodes.
  • Familiarity with Bitcoin, Ethereum, EVM-compatible chains, Layer 2 networks, transaction construction and broadcasting, confirmation and reorganization monitoring, and on-chain/off-chain reconciliation.
  • Awareness of digital-asset regulatory and compliance topics including AML/KYC, travel rules, and market-abuse considerations.
  • Professional experience with a JVM language such as Java, Scala, or Kotlin and Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing systems from scratch and evolving existing serverless and managed cloud architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers including Kafka, ideally for high-throughput and low-latency market or trade feeds.
  • Experience integrating third-party financial or trading APIs using REST, WebSocket, or FIX, including rate limits, authentication, signing, reconnection, and idempotency.
  • Experience with production monitoring and alerting, REST APIs, and Git flow.
  • Strong product-engineering, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and knowledge-sharing abilities.
  • Preferred experience with order books, order types, matching, market and limit orders, settlement lifecycles, DynamoDB, Aurora, fintech, trading, digital assets, multi-country products, localization, and multiple currencies.
  • A GitHub, Stack Overflow, application, or crypto/blockchain project portfolio is a bonus.
