Responsibilities
- Rotate across multiple expert R&D teams and develop software engineering skills during the two-year program.
- Contribute to software and hardware solutions that help customers plan, deploy, certify, monitor, and optimize communication networks.
- Collaborate with Agile teams and leadership on designs, project progress, issue resolution, and delivered solutions.
- Learn and apply relevant technologies, tools, methods, and processes while adapting to new projects and changing priorities.
- Continue contributing to a designated VIAVI team after successfully completing the rotational program.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Experience with C/C++ or Java, JavaScript or TypeScript, Linux, networking protocols such as TCP/IP, 802.11, and Bluetooth, and RESTful API integration.
- Familiarity with large language models, AI-assisted coding, and agentic workflows.
- Engineering-related experience outside the classroom, such as an internship, co-op, hackathon, research project, or related experience.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment, manage time effectively, communicate with teammates and leadership, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Willingness and ability to work on a temporary assignment in another country or location.
