Base Salary
$145k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the community portal, API, and operations tooling used by organizers, parents, and internal teams.
- Build self-serve community directories with parent join requests, approvals, and automated creation workflows.
- Design and maintain call-routing rules governing who can call whom and how quickly removals take effect.
- Acquire and ingest school and neighborhood datasets and enable parents to select relevant communities.
- Build new community features that become possible when neighborhoods or groups reach sufficient density.
- Define how children’s and families’ data is stored, accessed, and removed when a family leaves.
- Instrument systems with alarms, tests, and metrics to measure reliability and community engagement.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building and running web services with ownership of shipped systems.
- Strong TypeScript experience across the stack, including production APIs on AWS Lambda with Postgres and Next.js frontend development.
- Ability to design relational models for membership, permissions, and audit history.
- Strong understanding of authorization, access control, and rapid enforcement of permission changes.
- Experience instrumenting systems and applying a reliability-focused approach.
- Clear written communication and a collaborative, low-ego working style.
- Fluency using AI tools across prototyping, development, and analysis.
- Bonus qualifications include trust-and-safety or permissions systems experience, COPPA knowledge, Flutter, Shopify, Retool, or telephony familiarity.
