Responsibilities
- Define and implement the observability strategy, governance standards, tagging standards, ownership models, dashboards, and alert-management practices.
- Design, deploy, and maintain monitoring, alerting, visualization, APM, RUM, instrumentation, and monitoring-agent solutions using Dynatrace or equivalent tools.
- Establish and promote SRE practices including SLI, SLO, error budgets, and symptom-based alerting.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to improve system reliability, performance, and resilience.
- Lead technical initiatives from end to end, manage priorities, and deliver work within defined timelines and budgets.
- Analyze and resolve complex incidents in distributed microservices architectures.
- Coach and train teams without dedicated observability expertise while promoting documentation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with distributed international teams and contribute to operational excellence.
Requirements
- Significant Site Reliability Engineering experience in complex production environments.
- Strong knowledge of SLI, SLO, error budgets, symptom-based alerting, observability governance, RBAC, and SLO management.
- Demonstrated expertise with an observability platform such as Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, or AppDynamics.
- Practical production experience with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Strong infrastructure and operations automation experience with Terraform, Bash, and Python.
- Experience with GitLab CI or another pipeline and workflow management tool.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives end to end in complex operational environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
- Strong knowledge transfer, coaching, organization, collaboration, prioritization, autonomy, and documentation skills.
- Experience monitoring and operating Java Spring Boot applications, working in e-commerce environments, defining enterprise-wide observability standards, or consulting with multiple development teams is an asset.
