Responsibilities
- Analyze missions and define flight software requirements.
- Define embedded software architectures for satellite and payload systems.
- Develop and maintain embedded flight software functions and avionics interfaces.
- Define telemetry databases and fault detection, isolation, and recovery mechanisms.
- Support flight software verification and validation in SIL and HIL environments.
- Develop software validation plans, test plans, and verification matrices.
- Analyze software anomalies and track bug corrections and resolution.
- Support interface definition between space-segment and ground-segment systems.
- Participate in SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR program design reviews.
- Support satellite system integration and testing activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum seven years of experience developing embedded flight software for aerospace or satellite systems.
- Experience with real-time embedded software architectures and embedded systems.
- Knowledge of SpaceWire, CAN, Ethernet, or MIL-STD-1553 avionics protocols.
- Familiarity with CCSDS, ECSS, or PUS space software standards.
- Experience with software simulation, validation, and testing environments.
- Good oral and written communication skills, ideally in English and French.
- The successful candidate must be able to obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, requiring Canadian citizenship or valid permanent-resident status.
- Experience with spacecraft attitude and orbit control systems, embedded Linux, real-time operating systems, MATLAB, or Simulink is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, documentation, and collaboration skills are preferred.
