Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of the distributed SQL query execution engine.
- Own and enhance execution-layer components including distributed scans and joins.
- Optimize distributed execution paths to improve efficiency.
- Enhance runtime observability with improved metrics and debugging capabilities.
- Mentor engineers on distributed systems design and performance engineering.
- Write high-quality C/C++ code with comprehensive testing coverage.
- Collaborate with storage, transaction, and infrastructure teams.
- Contribute to the roadmap and technical direction of YugabyteDB.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience with compiled languages, e.g. C/C++.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with other compiled languages like Java, Go, or Rust is preferred.
- Knowledge of database internals and query optimization is a plus.
