Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, integration, and delivery of scalable enterprise application systems and digital capabilities.
- Architect and implement resilient Java microservices, distributed processing systems, messaging integrations, RESTful APIs, and gRPC services.
- Build modern responsive frontend applications using React and/or Angular, TypeScript, reactive programming, state management, and micro-frontend architectures.
- Design and optimize relational and NoSQL data models, schemas, indexes, queries, clustering, replication, connection pooling, and caching strategies.
- Define and enforce engineering standards covering clean code, design patterns, automated testing, debugging, code reviews, security, and release readiness.
- Containerize and deploy applications and configure enterprise CI/CD, job scheduling, code quality, dependency management, and vulnerability scanning workflows.
- Assess technical and business risks, maintain regulatory and enterprise-policy compliance, and transparently manage control issues.
- Mentor mid-level engineers and analysts, lead technical discussions, delegate engineering work, and resolve complex architectural and engineering problems.
- Use generative AI developer tools to accelerate delivery, generate tests, refactor legacy code, and improve code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent; a master's degree is preferred.
- 6–10+ years of progressive hands-on experience in full-stack software engineering and application architecture, including technical delivery leadership in enterprise environments.
- Advanced hands-on Java expertise and extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data, and Hibernate/JPA.
- Experience architecting and deploying high-throughput, low-latency, resilient, and secure microservices and distributed processing systems.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Solace, or JMS; enterprise RESTful APIs and gRPC; and authentication and authorization patterns including OAuth2, OIDC, and mTLS.
- Deep practical experience with React and/or Angular, TypeScript, ECMAScript, Redux and/or NgRx, RxJS, micro-frontends, enterprise data grids, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, WebSockets, and Server-Sent Events.
- Experience with Oracle, MongoDB, and/or Couchbase, including data modeling, schema design, SQL tuning, indexing, replication, clustering, pooling, and caching.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift and CI/CD platforms including Harness, Jenkins, Tekton, or GitHub Actions in Linux environments.
- Familiarity with Autosys or equivalent enterprise job schedulers and tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, and Checkmarx.
- Proficiency integrating generative AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or internal LLM coding assistants into daily workflows.
