Responsibilities
- Lead complex engineering initiatives and coordinate work across engineers and AI coding agents.
- Own squad architecture and technical direction by designing scalable solutions and reusable components.
- Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, code quality, system reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Design and improve AI-augmented engineering workflows for code generation, testing, and documentation.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers, resolve complex technical challenges, and influence engineering practices across teams.
- Oversee production systems and deployments while driving reliability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building, architecting, and scaling production software systems.
- Deep expertise in at least one programming language, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, Ruby, PHP, or C#.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and architectural judgment.
- Proven ability to lead complex engineering initiatives, coordinate engineering work, and drive predictable delivery.
- Experience designing scalable, reusable solutions and making short-term versus long-term technical trade-offs.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and AI-augmented engineering workflows.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills, including mentoring and cross-functional influence.
- Experience owning production systems, overseeing deployments, and driving system reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Nice-to-have experience with Ruby on Rails or Node.js, with experience in both preferred.
- Familiarity with React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, AWS, and Terraform.
- Experience with globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones is a plus.
