Base Salary
$260k - $310k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build production systems end-to-end across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, data models, and developer tooling.
- Develop product capabilities involving document ingestion, workflow orchestration, retrieval, structured outputs, agent frameworks, and human-in-the-loop review flows.
- Build and operate ETL pipelines, analytical data models, serving layers, and interfaces for querying and exploring large datasets.
- Work across Python, TypeScript, SQL, cloud infrastructure, agent orchestration engines, data processing platforms, and analytical databases.
- Define service boundaries, schemas, and system architecture for new product areas.
- Ship customer-facing features and improve their reliability, scale, observability, testing, performance, and operational quality.
- Partner directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand workflows and iterate on solutions.
- Build evaluation, monitoring, and feedback systems to measure product quality and inform engineering and model decisions.
- Create reusable platform patterns, abstractions, and internal tools that scale across customers and verticals.
- Drive technical direction and make engineering decisions in ambiguous spaces with high ownership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating production software, with ownership from concept through launch and iteration.
- Strong fundamentals in backend systems, APIs, data modeling, and at least one modern frontend stack.
- Experience building full-stack products across application and service layers.
- Experience with data pipelines, analytical systems, or document-heavy workflows, including schema design, ETL, query performance, and data reliability.
- Experience building AI-powered or workflow-driven applications involving retrieval systems, agentic workflows, orchestration layers, evaluation pipelines, or structured generation systems.
- Comfort working across application code, infrastructure, databases, observability, and internal tooling.
- Ability to debug and improve complex production systems using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and engineering judgment.
- Strong product sense and ability to translate ambiguous business or user needs into technical designs.
- Ability to partner with customers and cross-functional teams to scope problems, validate solutions, and drive adoption.
- Clear, concise communication, a low-ego working style, and enthusiasm for collaborating in person with New York teammates.
