Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, and architecture of enterprise-scale API gateway, edge-routing, and developer-acceleration platform capabilities.
- Build and scale high-throughput backend engines for request orchestration, multi-tenant isolation, and API-first services.
- Set technical direction for initiatives involving vanity URLs, JWT authentication flows, and cross-service proxying.
- Evolve deployment infrastructure using GitOps workflows, ArgoCD, Helm, and highly available containerized orchestration.
- Own foundational features end-to-end while improving observability, rate limiting, and concurrency management.
- Deliver Java/Kotlin backend services and integrate them with UI components, distributed edge proxies, and cross-origin requirements.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership through design reviews, pair programming, and architectural collaboration.
Requirements
- Experience in software engineering for enterprise-scale, high-throughput platform or data-centric environments.
- Deep expertise in Java and/or Kotlin and strong knowledge of distributed systems internals.
- Experience delivering API-first infrastructure, API gateways such as Traefik, and edge-routing solutions handling sustained traffic loads of 2K+ requests per second.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerized deployments, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, ArgoCD, and high-velocity release workflows.
- Grounding in event-driven architecture, real-time data processing, and large-scale database transaction management.
- Ability to use modern AI tools and concepts, including agentic programming patterns and LLM-assisted workflows, to accelerate platform engineering.
- Strong technical communication skills, including writing structured RFCs and architectural designs and aligning globally distributed teams.
- Preferred experience shaping enterprise-scale platform strategy across hybrid or cloud-agnostic infrastructures.
- Preferred comfort exploring React, Python, or Go and mentoring engineers across distributed teams.
