Base Salary
$150k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead modernization of Bruin’s core platform by moving components to modern frameworks, retiring legacy patterns, and establishing reusable platform patterns.
- Partner with the Principal Software Architect and senior technical leadership on architecture, framework and infrastructure evaluation, ADRs, and platform-wide design decisions.
- Design, build, and ship full-stack Bruin services and customer-facing features across backend, API, and data layers.
- Work flexibly across engineering tracks, including contributing backend depth to the Bruin AI Portal and broader team initiatives.
- Build and operate services on containerized Kubernetes infrastructure running on-premise, following CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment patterns.
- Conduct code reviews, write maintainable tested code, and guide junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant production full-stack application development.
- Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals, judgment, autonomy, and ability to work effectively with AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Strong proficiency in at least two modern programming languages, with TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js preferred; working knowledge of Python, Go, or Java is useful.
- Solid React and TypeScript experience building complex, data-driven web applications.
- Production experience with a modern backend framework such as NestJS or FastAPI.
- Hands-on experience with microservices and event-driven architectures, including Kafka and Redis or comparable technologies.
- Relational database and ORM framework experience; MSSQL familiarity is a plus.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in containerized deployments and comfort with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and ability to analyze and modernize unfamiliar legacy codebases.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AI-powered application features, Temporal.io or Dagster, brownfield modernization, data-intensive applications, Solr, OpenSearch, StarRocks, ClickHouse, telecom or B2B platforms, and AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes certifications.
