Responsibilities
- Design and deliver core infrastructure across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises environments using Terraform and Crossplane.
- Architect and operate single-tenant and multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters with emphasis on isolation, performance, and reliability.
- Create reproducible infrastructure provisioning patterns with Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules.
- Design and operate secrets management, including dynamic provisioning, rotation, and fine-grained access control.
- Manage GPU drivers, device plugins, and accelerated compute node pools for AI and simulation workloads.
- Own Kubernetes networking, CNI selection, Istio service mesh integration, ingress strategy, and cross-cluster connectivity.
- Implement vCluster-based multi-tenancy and develop lightweight Kubernetes Operators or controllers when needed.
- Establish SLOs and reliability targets, lead production incident response, and uphold platform engineering standards.
- Partner with security and platform teams on infrastructure governance, network policies, and compliance controls.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience operating Kubernetes in production, including cluster architecture, scheduling, networking, storage, and API lifecycle.
- Significant production experience designing and operating Crossplane compositions, providers, and managed resources.
- Strong experience authoring and operating Terraform at scale, including state management, module design, and CI integration.
- Practical experience operating infrastructure across multiple cloud providers and on-premises environments.
- Experience designing single-tenant and multi-tenant Kubernetes architectures with strong isolation and resource governance practices.
- Experience with secrets management tools such as Vault, External Secrets Operator, or cloud-native secret stores.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, CNI plugins, Istio service mesh, ingress patterns, and cross-cluster or hybrid connectivity.
- Experience with vCluster or similar virtual-cluster tooling and GPU driver management in Kubernetes.
- Experience writing or extending Kubernetes Operators or controllers, ideally in Golang or Python.
- Software engineering capability in Python and Golang, with exposure to Erlang, Elixir, or OCaml appreciated.
- Understanding of distributed systems, infrastructure-as-product principles, usability, documentation, and long-term maintainability.
- Kubernetes certifications such as CKAD, CKA, or CKS are highly desirable.
- Experience with GitOps workflows using Argo CD or Flux and contributions to open-source infrastructure or Kubernetes projects are desirable.
