Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, integrate, debug, and test embedded sensor-control software for airborne imaging systems.
- Develop and evaluate hardware/software interfaces, system architectures, operational performance requirements, and subsystem compatibility.
- Use OMS, UCI, XML Schema, reference designs, and other standards in product development.
- Perform unit testing, system modeling, simulation, analysis, design reviews, code reviews, and test reviews.
- Investigate complex technical issues, improve system performance, resolve difficult requirements issues, and provide production support.
- Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams and other departments to specify, design, integrate, and test products.
- Produce status reports and projections, manage multiple projects within specifications and budget constraints, and evaluate vendor capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with at least nine years of related experience; alternatively, a graduate degree with at least seven years of related experience.
- Experience participating in software development throughout the design cycle, including major design and architecture reviews.
- Experience with hardware/software integration and testing, embedded development, APIs, BSPs, drivers, OpenGL, health and status, and programming for Linux, Windows, and QNX.
- Experience with C++ systems development, software/hardware co-design, distributed systems design, software and computer architecture, and avionics lifecycle execution.
- Experience with DevSecOps and test automation using Python or similar languages.
- Preferred experience with MATLAB/Simulink, embedded security and encryption, video transport and encoding, video processing algorithms, Bash/Python, Intel x86, ARM, FPGA, SoC, GPP, GPU, release engineering, configuration management, debug/trace analysis, and real-time operating systems.
- Preferred familiarity with VxWorks, LynxOS, Integrity, SELinux, software integration, verification/validation, network storage, Gigabit Ethernet, and InfiniBand.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.
