Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision and architecture for large-scale systems.
- Contribute hands-on to core code, complex implementations, and production issue resolution.
- Influence multiple teams and stakeholders and align technical decisions across organizations.
- Partner with Product Management and leadership to translate business goals into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence.
- Use AI tools and techniques to improve engineering workflows and automate processes.
- Refine data pipelines and system architecture for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with Ads and Bing teams on shared infrastructure and unified solutions.
- Provide production support by fixing bugs and resolving live-site issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 10+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Expertise in SQL, Kafka, Hadoop, Hive, cloud systems, memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization.
- Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-based systems at scale.
- Expertise in system architecture, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Experience with microservices, data pipelines, or large data systems.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems such as Git, and build tools.
- Preferred experience with AdTech, high-throughput or low-latency services, Azure or other hyperscale cloud platforms, data-intensive systems, machine learning platforms, large marketplaces, and major architectural initiatives.
- Ability to influence without authority, communicate effectively, collaborate, and lead technical design documentation.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
