Base Salary

$78k - $161k/yr

Responsibilities

Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements to create effective test cases and scripts.
Execute manual and automated tests for features, enhancements, integrations, bug fixes, and releases.
Design, maintain, and expand automation frameworks, automated scripts, and regression test suites for web applications.
Perform end-to-end system testing across integrated FEMA and DHS identity services components.
Validate data integrity, business rules, workflows, and user access controls.
Execute regression testing in lower environments and post-production smoke, sanity, and release validation testing.
Support UAT by validating fixes and assisting with defect resolution.
Document, track, retest, and validate defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
Collaborate with developers, technical leads, system owners, and Scrum Masters to improve test coverage and resolve defects.
Maintain QA documentation and support audits, reviews, and reporting requirements.
Ensure testing aligns with DHS security, compliance, and quality standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience as a QA Engineer in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
Experience with sprint-based testing and regression testing.
Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Xray, and Zephyr.
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret-level clearance.
Ability to work in person as needed, with an expected 60% in-person engagement subject to client and business requirements.
Prior consulting experience is preferred.
Experience with federal government systems, DHS, FEMA, or large-scale enterprise applications is preferred.
Experience testing identity services, access management, or security-sensitive systems is preferred.
Experience integrating test automation with CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
Knowledge of API testing and database validation is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud-based or hybrid environments is preferred.
