Responsibilities
- Support existing, new, and next-generation military communications applications.
- Provide responses to bids and proposals and derive software requirements.
- Create software designs and add features to existing designs.
- Develop embedded applications using C and C++ in a cross-compiled environment.
- Configure and patch U-Boot and Linux for embedded systems.
- Configure embedded root file systems and work with Linux device trees and boot processes.
- Assess third-party and open-source software license documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience, or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 6 years of embedded software engineering experience.
- Significant C++ experience and experience with C and C++ embedded development.
- Experience configuring and patching U-Boot and Linux, configuring embedded root file systems, and working with Linux device trees and embedded Linux boot processes.
- BASH scripting experience.
- Preferred familiarity with PetaLinux, Yocto, VxWorks, Linux driver development, Buildroot, JFFS2, UBI, UBIFS, BusyBox, board bring-up, and JTAG.
- Preferred experience debugging hardware and assessing third-party and open-source software licenses.
- Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, or ClearCase.
- DoD SECRET security clearance or qualification to obtain one.
