Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Set technical direction, investment priorities, success criteria, and tradeoffs for a modality or capability area.
- Drive technical direction across partner teams and own outcomes beyond individual contributions.
- Design and build agentic, human-in-the-loop, and expert-in-the-loop workflows for scalable data production.
- Design and own large-scale data pipelines for ingestion, filtering, pseudo-labeling, captioning, and provenance tracking.
- Build evaluation infrastructure with objective metrics, human listening tests, and correlation analysis.
- Improve distributed training efficiency, GPU utilization, codec and tokenizer retraining, and experiment management.
- Implement research methods, extend state-of-the-art work, and run rigorous ablations.
- Build and train generative and representation models for speech, sound, and music.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring and onboarding, and improve evaluation and quality practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of programming experience in a relevant language, or 4+ years of experience with a PhD.
- At least 3 years of experience building ML systems in production or research settings.
- Strong Python and PyTorch skills.
- Demonstrated experience with speech, audio, or music machine learning, such as ASR, TTS, audio codecs, music information retrieval, self-supervised audio representation learning, or audio generative modeling.
- Experience with large-scale data pipelines and distributed training.
- Track record of translating research ideas into working, measurable systems.
- Preferred experience includes publications at major venues, generative modeling, audio DSP, controllable generation, evaluation harnesses, music expertise, multimodal model evaluation, AI agents, responsible AI, and zero-to-one technical leadership.
Benefits
- Base salary of $183,997/year to $257,000/year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
