Base Salary
$182k - $242k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and evolution of a core ML workflow platform area serving billions of artifacts and high-volume events and jobs.
- Analyze system architecture, optimize performance, resolve complex cross-service bugs, and balance delivery with long-term platform health.
- Develop across Go backend services, GraphQL APIs, the Python SDK, and TypeScript frontend applications.
- Lead migrations and re-architecture of systems handling live customer traffic.
- Refactor technical debt and establish scalable engineering patterns and best practices.
- Collaborate with product and design to implement complex user requirements.
- Work directly with enterprise customers to understand ML workflow challenges and incorporate feedback into product development.
- Mentor engineers and raise the team's technical bar.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a closely related technical or quantitative field involving substantial engineering coursework.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of significant technical initiatives or architectural changes.
- Strong proficiency in Go or another compiled language such as C, C++, C#, Rust, or Java, with the ability to ramp up on Go quickly.
- Working proficiency in Python.
- Ability to diagnose and fix difficult bugs across complex systems and service boundaries.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical decisions to varied audiences.
- Depth in one or two areas including distributed systems and infrastructure, frontend and full-stack development, data at scale, APIs and developer surfaces, or event-driven systems.
- Experience in ML infrastructure, MLOps, or developer tools is preferred.
