Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of the TEM application, new feature delivery, and the TEM Data Product.
- Develop and operate backend applications, data products, and AWS-based infrastructure.
- Build Java/Spring services, Kafka producers and consumers, Python automation, and data tooling.
- Implement SQL queries, data modeling, database migrations, and end-to-end data processing validation.
- Manage containerized CI/CD workflows, infrastructure automation, secrets handling, observability, and distributed-system troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with product management and business analysts while contributing to documentation, test automation, and code quality.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience is required; the experience section seeks 5+ years across data engineering, backend development, and cloud platform work or equivalent breadth.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Experience with Java 11+ and Spring, preferably Java 21, plus Maven and Docker.
- Experience with Kafka, Confluent Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, Python 3.11, Terraform, and AWS services including ECS, ECR, Lambda, SQS, Secrets Manager, Aurora, ElastiCache, Route 53, KMS, cross-account roles, and EKS.
- Strong SQL and Snowflake experience, including complex queries, window functions, performance tuning, and data modeling.
- Practical experience with Flyway or similar database migration tooling, GitLab CI, SOPS, CodeArtifact, observability, distributed systems, and automated testing.
- Strong collaboration, documentation, security awareness, and ability to translate business requirements into data and service contracts.
