Responsibilities
- Own complex cloud infrastructure and platform engineering problems end-to-end in production.
- Lead significant portions of a scalable, secure, multi-tenant, multi-cluster, multi-region cloud platform.
- Set technical direction across project teams and drive cross-functional solutions.
- Build platforms, APIs, and distributed systems on Kubernetes.
- Design and operate Infrastructure as Code using Crossplane and Terraform.
- Implement GitOps and CI/CD pipelines with declarative promotion and rollback processes.
- Apply networking, Linux systems, and systems-level troubleshooting expertise.
- Operate observability stacks and raise quality, security, and customer-focus standards.
- Mentor engineers, engage senior leadership, and align technical solutions with business objectives.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of cloud infrastructure and platform engineering experience with end-to-end production ownership.
- Experience building platforms, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems using Kubernetes and frameworks such as gRPC or REST.
- Experience operating multi-tenant, multi-cluster, and multi-region Kubernetes and container environments.
- Deep experience designing Crossplane composition and provider patterns and using Terraform at scale.
- Public cloud expertise, particularly AWS or AliCloud.
- Experience with GitOps and CI/CD using Flux, Jenkins, and Kargo.
- Strong networking fundamentals including NATs, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and mTLS.
- Linux internals and systems-level troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, and Datadog.
- Strong programming proficiency in Golang and experience with the Kubernetes Operator pattern.
- Experience with service meshes, including Istio Ambient mode or Cilium.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, drive technical direction, work cross-functionally in ambiguous environments, and engage senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of work experience is highly desirable.
