Responsibilities
- Monitor dashboards and system telemetry to detect health issues, performance degradation, and reliability risks.
- Own debugging and incident response from initial alert through resolution, escalating when appropriate.
- Build logging, monitoring, and observability tooling and mature SRE practices.
- Maintain platform health, scaling, and capacity planning.
- Improve deployment processes and automate build and deployment pipelines.
- Identify engineering workflow bottlenecks and develop self-service tools and automation.
- Help implement a secure, robust, high-availability delivery pipeline.
- Communicate system status, trade-offs, and post-incident learnings to teammates and stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or software engineering.
- Hands-on experience monitoring production systems, responding to incidents, and owning debugging processes.
- Experience with PLG, Datadog, or other enterprise monitoring and observability tools.
- Experience with on-call rotations and post-mortems.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and familiarity with Terraform or Pulumi.
- Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
- Ability to work independently in an agile scrum environment and learn new technologies quickly.
- U.S. citizenship is required to access U.S.-only and export-controlled data systems.
- TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Preferred: experience with SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, CI/CD automation, Docker, AWS GovCloud, modern web services architectures, relational databases, SQL, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch.
