Base Salary
$142k - $199k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the architectural direction and technical roadmap for messaging services and internal tools.
- Design, implement, and deploy large-scale distributed systems end to end.
- Maintain and optimize highly available services capable of handling substantial traffic spikes across multiple streaming brands.
- Partner with cross-functional business units and stakeholders to integrate messaging requirements across diverse domains.
- Investigate and resolve technical challenges related to internationalization and global streaming expansion.
- Drive engineering excellence through robust architecture and high-quality code delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of intensive backend development experience.
- Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
- Track record of owning features and delivering complex projects end to end.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with technical and non-technical partners.
- Ability to investigate deep-tier technical components while maintaining an overall architectural perspective.
- Experience working effectively within geographically distributed teams is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new domains, technologies, and evolving industry standards is preferred.
- Mastery of Java or another modern backend programming language is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, RDS, and Kinesis, or equivalent cloud-provider services, is preferred.
- In-depth experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases is preferred.
